Medicare Matchup Process

Our Medicare Matchup process is designed to simplify your decision-making. We’ll guide you through a series of questions and share important information to help you determine which of the two main Medicare options—Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage (also known as Part C) —best suits your needs.

Here’s how our process works:

  1. Understanding Your Needs: We’ll start by asking about your healthcare experiences, preferences and goals. Then, we’ll discuss lifestyle and desires for specific doctors, facilities and prescriptions to be covered. Last of all we will discuss future needs and objectives.
  2. Exploring Original Medicare: We’ll explain that Original Medicare includes Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance). We’ll also cover adding a separate Medicare drug plan (Part D) and supplemental coverage like Medigap.
  3. Delving into Medicare Advantage: We’ll introduce Medicare Advantage plans as an alternative to Original Medicare, offered by private companies. We’ll discuss potential network restrictions, different out-of-pocket costs, premiums, and extra benefits.
  4. Personalized Recommendations: Based on your input, we’ll help you understand which option aligns more closely with your individual situation, empowering you to make an informed decision about your Medicare coverage.

Your Medicare Options

Original Medicare

  • Original Medicare includes Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance).
  • You can join a separate Medicare drug plan to get Medicare drug coverage (Part D).
  • You can use any doctor or hospital that takes Medicare, anywhere in the U.S.
  • You can also shop for and buy supplemental coverage that helps pay your out-of-pocket costs (like your 20% coinsurance).

Z Included with Original Medicare:

  • Part A
  • Part B

Z You can add to Original Medicare:

  • Part D
  • Supplemental coverage. (It can help pay some costs that other parts don’t cover. This includes Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap)).

Medicare Advantage (also known as Part C)

  • Medicare Advantage is a Medicare-approved plan from a private company that offers an alternative to Original Medicare for your health and drug coverage.
  • These “bundled” plans include Part A, Part B, and usually Part D.
  • In many cases, you can only use doctors who are in the plan’s network.
  • Plans often have different out-of-pocket costs than Original Medicare or supplemental coverage like Medigap.
  • Plans may offer some extra benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t.

Z Most Medicare Advantage plans include:

  • Part A
  • Part B
  • Part D
  • Some extra benefits
