When Can You Enroll in Health Insurance?
You can enroll during:
1. Open Enrollment Period
Occurs annually — ask us for specific dates and deadlines.
2. Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs)
You may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if you’ve experienced any of the following:
Family Additions or Changes
- Birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child
- Certified pregnancy
- Marriage or divorce
- Death of a household member enrolled in a Connect for Health Colorado plan
Loss of Coverage
- Loss of employer-provided health insurance
- Loss of Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid) eligibility
- Loss of Medicare Part A eligibility
- Turning 26 and aging off a parent’s plan
- Expiration of a student health plan
- Loss of COBRA subsidy
Move or Change in Residence
- Moving to Colorado
- Moving to a new address (eligibility depends on specific conditions)
- Release from incarceration
- Gaining lawful presence in the U.S.
Income Changes (for current enrollees only)
- Income changes affecting Cost-Sharing Reductions (lower out-of-pocket costs)
- Income changes that make you newly eligible or no longer eligible for the Premium Tax Credit
